Fantastic post! Hartman was indeed multi-talented and adapted so well to so many different styles over the years. Not all of his ideas stuck - like his ill-fated "Bass suit" (look it up) - but what worked was sensational. Thanks for the good vibrations.

You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed it. Will have to look the bass suit up for the next time I cover him.

Wow! I was of course familiar with “I Can Dream About You” and “Free Ride” but had not a clue they were by the same artist! What a diverse musician. And what a sad tale that he didn’t find the success he rightly should have, which is then overshadowed by the tragedy of not being able to live who he truly was. Thanks for this enlightening post.

I particularly remember "Free Ride", "Instant Replay", and "I Can Dream About You." Not sure why a few of these others weren't big hit. Perhaps they sounded TOO disco for the time. Great collection of songs though!

They are. The "Vertigo" part of "Relight My Fire" is a banger!

WHOOOOOOO! That was a ✨️DISCO✨️start to my day! You're right, I'd heard nearly everything without knowing who was behind the music.

I only found out about him being the vocalist on "Free Ride" a few years ago.

This is a great write up! Of course, I'm primarily familiar with "I Can Dream About You" and "Instant Replay" but I did not know of his connection to "Love Sensation."

Thanks Dan! I had no about "Love Sensation" until a little while ago.
